The Many Faces of Person-Centric Electronic Health Systems: A National Symposium to Examine Use-cases for Healthy,Chronically Ill, and Disabled User Communities Personal Health Records

CGU-QTC Symposium II ~ December 2nd & 3rd, 2005

This symposium is aimed at researchers, practitioners, educators, healthcare professionals, information technology specialists and others who have an interest in the challenges that health systems face when trying to implement electronic health systems in service to various user communities. The theme of this second CGU-QTC Health Symposium is to explore the Many Faces of Person-Centric electronic health systems and examine use-case scenarios for three user communities which are Healthy (Lifestyle), Chronically Ill, and Disabled.

CGU-QTC Health Symposium will present an exciting mix of keynote speakers, research papers, roundtable discussions and social events that will facilitate:

  • Understanding how person-centric health systems can address the diverse health needs of the user communities (lifestyle, chronic illness, disability)
  • Identifying key research findings and needs for achieving person-centric health systems that serve the many faces of the user communities
  • Initiating the discussion between researchers and practitioners, with special attention to Southern California
  • Developing a taxonomy of User-Types for EHR by taking into account the needs of diverse populations
  • Identifying use-cases of EHR and its subsets for healthy, chronically ill, and disabled population

The symposium is being organized by CGU as part of a research collaboration
with QTC Management (www.qtcm.com). The symposium will take place on the campus of Claremont Graduate University (www.cgu.edu), located in a
tree-lined community 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles and 15 minutes
from the Ontario International Airport (ONT).
